About us

Where creativity meets ecology and community.

The Stone Haven artist residency concept came about after founders eKow and Tarisse visited Portland, Jamaica and fell in love with the tranquility, people, and nature. We discovered the residency's location, Darlingford Farm through Dr. Allen, one of the owners. The name "Stone Haven" was derived from the book written by Evan Jones, which was based on Darlingford farm and the family that previously owned it. We think Darlingford will serve as not only a residency, but also a place to retreat! We're excited for what's ahead and appreciative to Darlingford farm for being our location sponsor!

The Stone Haven International Residency is an interdisciplinary, curator-led initiative situated in Jamaica's countryside in Portland, on the Caribbean Sea.

We envision an interconnected Pan-Caribbean network of artists whose work engages with shared histories, cultural legacies, environments, and collective futures — a place where serious practice and place-based community life inform one another.

Two artists are selected for the inaugural cycle for a four-to-six week immersive cross-cultural residence, prioritizing emerging and mid-career voices across the Caribbean and its diaspora.
